Recycling of metal oxides and hydroxides

Recyling process

The metal hydroxides containing non-ferrous metals will initially be calcined to achieve compatible water and oil contents at the inlet of the melting furnace.

Thanks to Erasteel Recycling’s expertise, the oxides and calcined hydroxides will be mixed in a submerged electrode furnace to produce a range of Ferro Nickel.

The supernatant part in the furnace (the slag) will be high in silica and intended for building materials.

Products and recycling

All non-ferrous metals will be recycled as alloys:

  • Alloys  Stainless steel :      up to 20% Ni
  • Alloys FeNi:                    20-25% Ni

Zero waste generated by the calcination and fusion processes installed on the site.
